Sheshory, international Ethnic music and Landart festival
Performers from Ukraine, Georgia, Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, UK, Sweden, Germany and France. Authentic folk and world music, open-air galleries, numerous workshops, night performances, watching documentaries, getting acquainted with various musical instruments, jam sessions in the yourt at one of the festival glades, and a lot of other wondrous activities and surprises.
Belarus was presented by ethno folk group Guda.

Games of the Gods
Igry, igryshchy are ceremonial holiday acts that were essencial for Kupala (Kupala is a traditional holiday dedicated to the celebration of summer solstice) a nd Kaliady (holiday period around Christmas). According to the etymological dictionary the word "igra" contains an archaic complex of meanings of "singing alongside with dancing" and the roots of the meaning of the word are to be searched for in the Indo - European past where it was belonging to the sacral field.
"Igry Bagou" ("Games of the Gods") is a solo programme that was created by the group "GUDA". There are several mythological plots that form the script base of the programme. It consists of ceremonial, ritual songs which are the oldest layer of the traditional culture of Belarus.
In a ritual a man adresses the Gods and the ancestors. A ritual song contains the appeals to the divinities, it is filled with presentiment and awareness of their presence. Our ancestors thought that exactly at that time the Gods show up in the people's world. Often they put on people's look and take part in the most important acts of people's life.
All the songs are performed a cappello (with no instrumental accompaniment) ...

Guda's performance was divided into thematic parts dedicated to the
certain plots of Belarusian mythology which were supported by historical comments and visual material displayed in the right corner of the stage. Guda's story of ancient
nature and Belarusian rites, the story of the people's relations with pagan Gods presented though original folk singing could attract not only folk music lovers but everyone
who is interested in Belarusian culture and feels the spirit of our Motherland.

Our music was stolen
Belarusian songs which were reconstructed by ethno folk group GUDA were released in Russian Federation without any permission of the collective. Audiopirates from Moscow neglected all ethical and commercial rusles of show business. In the annotation of the pirate version GUDA's folk material is characterized as "Slavonic singing". Belarusian roots of the ethno material are not even mentioned.

Welcome to the Festival of Ethnic Music "Free Wind" which takes place in Krupki vil. in June the 15th. There you'll enjoy not only "GUDA" but also "Troitsa", "Palats", “Drum Extasy” and others. Show begins at 20 p.m. You can find more information as well as free registration form at TUZIN HITOU.

The song "Svyati Yanya" is a piece of a collective project “ZARA” which was recorded together with DROLLS band. With this very song GUDA came out in the most important Belarusian internet-chart TUZIN GITOU. The number of days and positions in the chart depends on you! You are welcome to vote for the songs you liked every day.
It should be noticed, that due to appearance of “Svyati Yanya” in the TUZIN GITOU chart, the song automatically is included into TUZIN-music reports which are performed on “Minsk” and “Racyja” radiostations.

July 5-10 GUDA performed at The International Folk Festival BALTICA-2005 Lithuania.
BALTICA introduces authentic folklore and historical traditions, either naturally developed or reconstructed, which represent cultural diversity of different nations. Songs, dances, instrumental music as well as customs, handicrafts, national cuisine - everything that features the exclusiveness and uniqueness of each nation - is what both the organisers and the audience of the Festival care about.
The theme of the festival BALTICA - 2005 is THE HUMAN BEING. Child, youth, mature adult, whether a man or a woman or an elder. The festival celebrates man in his diverse social roles as they relate to age, gender, responsibilities of a mother, father, as well as someone who preserves cultural traditions and defends the homeland. This human being is also a singer, a musician, a craftsman and a transmitter of traditional folk wisdom.

Two songs from our album "Archaic ritual singing" were remixed by T-Trider (Electrokids.org) and Maks Retort (Tribute DM "Personal Depeche" KRAMA Enjoy The Silence , Закрадраченная Жизнь).
The song Miadunitsa (Мядуніца - T-Trider & Maks Retort Drum-n-bass mix) competes in the Top 12 of the Belarusian Music Portal "Tuzin Hitou".
